This is a post which I wrote in 2017 after Roger Federer’s Wimbledon victory.

Though a hardcore Novak Djokovic supporter, I’d still say that Roger Federer is a lesson to all of us as it’s more than just winning a(nother) grand slam.

I never believed that Federer would gain back his form given his age, his dipping performance & especially after that 6 months injury layoff…but he put me to shame by the way he returned in the Australian Open & now winning in Wimbledon without dropping a set throughout. He made the accurate decision to miss the Roland Garros French Open so as to give his body some rest and prepare himself nicely for Wimbledon knowing his contrasting capabilities on clay court & grass court.

It is a living example of how the best judge of a person is he himself. The belief in oneself is all what it takes, apart from not giving a damn to the views and opinions of others & not letting those come in the way of hard work, and how time spent with family gives you the very boost needed in times of darkness.

Roger Federer, I salute you.
