Maroon 5 is my favorite band,
Their songs take me to another land.

Everyone in my social group knows about this love of mine;
After all, 24×7 they’ve heard me sing every song, every line.

I’d sworn to myself I’ll see their live performance before I die,
But they never came to Asia much, I dunno why.
To watch them, I even thought of flying across the sea,
And had checked costs to know what would it be.

And then, just after my birthday, out of the blue,
Maroon 5 announced: ‘India, we’re coming to you!’
I was sure it was God’s birthday gift to me,
Otherwise, how on earth could this possibly be?

So, when I heard the news, I lost it all,
Jumped and screamed all through the halls.

Posters of Maroon 5 have always covered my room, making me beam;
I just hope this entire incident is not a dream.

Also, I feel I owe one to a person who’s a hypothetical mediator in my view,
Two days with whom after sharing my wish, it’s all coming true.

Now, I’m dialing this Payphone to hear them sing,
Bringing Sugar to my year — what a perfect thing!
With wild Animals like me in the crowd,
I’ll make some Memories, sing my heart out loud.

I’m so, so, so excited, and can hardly believe —
After all this time, they’re finally coming to me!
