Everyday my friends gossiped about the captivating scenes of a new TV show,
What was so mesmerizing in it I wished to know

I had not started watching the series yet
My bestie declared “You’ll just love it, I can bet”

When they debated each plot and turn, I felt left out
“How can you be so old-fashioned” they would shout

“You should definitely start watching it” my friends used to say
Out of societal pressure, I gave in as I pressed play

To catch up on the episodes they had seen.

Drawing me deeper, like a fish on a hook.

As the minutes passed and the story unfurled,
A journey embarked, into a charming world.

I was no longer excluded in my social group as I found my place,
Conversing with friends, their smiles on my face.

Slowly the TV show became a shared connection,
A bond between friends, a treasured reflection.

And now I’m a part of their TV show clan,
Enriched by the tales and discussions we plan.

For that moment of choice, I feel so grateful today
